Actor Refutes Anti-Vaxxer Stance Following Voicing Contentious Pandemic Documentary
The "Taken" star has provided his narration to a feature-length documentary that questions the legitimacy of vaccines and praises former health official RFK Jr.
The Film's Contentious Origins
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a well-known publication published by a disgraced researcher, who became famous during the pandemic for assertions that the virus was a result of a bad strain of the seasonal immunization.
The book's co-author, the executive producer, has penned books with far-right radio host Alex Jones. The producer took to social media praising Neeson's participation in the documentary.
An Unequivocal Statement
The team of Liam Neeson have released a statement firmly refuting suggestions that he supports anti-immunization sentiments.
"Many acknowledge that unethical practices might be present within the drug industry, but that must not be confused with being against vaccines," the comment explains. "He is not, and remains not, against vaccines. His extensive work with Unicef underscores his enduring support for global immunisation initiatives."
It added that the performer was not involved in crafting the project's messaging and that concerns about its assertions should be directed to the creators.

In the film, the voiceover spoken by Neeson features several controversial statements:

In recent weeks, RFK Jr instructed the Centers for Disease Control to revise its long-held position that there is no link between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is repeated in the film, even with a new report from the World Health Organisation stating no evidence has been found.

Standing in contrast to the film's tone, Neeson has in the past shown firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.
Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible triumph," adding that "The conversation about vaccines in the past few years has overlooked how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."
