Netflix Selects Ideal Star for Bentham in One Piece Season 3
Baroque Works is poised to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the major clash isn’t set to occur until season 3, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced this week that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bentham. The role possesses the power to morph into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. Escola, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a interpretation of that role re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, as in the source material and cartoon version.
Escola will work alongside multiple new cast members tasked with bringing the organization to reality, such as leader Mr. 0, portrayed by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is also part of the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.
Though Bon Clay is a key figure of the group, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Considering the second season set to cover the Little Garden arc, this signals a major departure in the timing of their first appearance, one that could suggest additional alterations to the plot development.
The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the character. Besides their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.
The platform’s adapted One Piece series is due to premiere for its next installment on the tenth of March, 2026.
