An Australian man that leaped across a fence and grabbed actress Ariana Grande has been expelled and banned from Singapore.

The individual, twenty-six, was handed a penalty to over a week in detention for being a public nuisance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the country's border control told local media.

The man shoved beyond security and charged at the celebrity, who was participating in the Asian debut for the musical adaptation on November 13. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

Wen has a history of causing disturbances at events and star-studded occasions, including jumping on stage at the pop star's Australian show in June this year.

The event provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with many accusing him of re-traumatising Grande.

The celebrity has mentioned dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a explosive incident at her performance in Manchester in spring of 2017 took the lives of 22 people and hurt numerous attendees.

In the legal process, the court heard he had made efforts to breach on the film's premiere twice, according to local news sources.

He then made a follow-up try to breach security. Protection personnel prevented him and held him in place.

He then uploaded video clips appreciating the celebrity for permitting his access and said he was "released."

Police took him into custody the following day and brought charges against him with public nuisance, to which the man admitted guilt.

The Court Judge Christopher Goh was cited by Channel News Asia as saying that the man sought attention, adding that he was wrong to assume he would not face any penalties.

Grande has not spoken about the case.

Erivo spoke about the event to the press, stating that she "only aimed to ensure my friend was protected."

"I'm sure he didn't intend us injury, but you can't predict with these incidents, and I sought to make sure that she was OK. That was my initial reaction," she said.
